Waretown, a section of Ocean (in Ocean County).
Located near Long Beach Island on the Jersey Shore, Waretown offers easy access to New York City and Atlantic City. The 2010 Census says that 1569 people live in Waretown. Since then, many homes have been built in Greenbriar Oceanaire and the population is probably higher at this time.
The bulk of the population live in the active adult community, Greenbriar Oceanaire, which will have ~ 1400 homes when completed. Construction should be completed in 2015. The homes are upscale, with 2 or 3 bedrooms and a 2 car garage, Some homes have basements and/or a loft. The large active clubhouse offers indoor and outdoor pools, a gym, a restaurant, many clubs and activities. Greenbriar Oceanaire is a golfing community, with a championship 18 course, open to residents and their guests only.

Locally there is shopping with upscale stores, with additional shopping and dining located on Long Beach Island. Ocean County Mall is in nearby Toms River.There are many great seafood restaurants located along Route 9.

Waretown is only minutes from the Atlantic Ocean at Long Beach Island, 40 minutes from Atlantic City, less than 2 hours to NYC. Marinas are available for the boating enthusiasts.
Waretown, a section of Ocean Township, is located at Garden State Parkway exit 69. Ocean Ride provides bus transportation within Ocean County, with 12 bus routes connecting key residential areas with popular destinations such as shopping, employment, social services and connections to other means of transportation. New Jersey Transit provides bus service along Route 9.
The closest hospitals are Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin and Community Hospital in Toms River. Ocean Ride provides door-to-door, non-emergency medical transportation service to seniors (age 60 and over) and person with disabilities.
